| We
are proud to be located in Historic Abingdon, the oldest town
west of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
A Tailor’s Lodging, is found within Abingdon’s
20-block historic district, a short walk to the world famous
Barter Theatre, the State Theatre of Virginia, where actors
such as Gregory Peck, Earnest Borgnine and Kevin Spacey began
their careers.
Also within walking distance are several fine dining establishments,
such as The Tavern, Withers Hardware Restaurant, Caroline’s
and The Starving Artist.
Several museums and art galleries are located nearby, including
William King Regional Art Center, The Arts Depot, New Light
Gallery and Barr’s Studio.
In addition, visitors to downtown Abingdon have many opportunities
for shopping for crafts and fine antiques. Shops offer everything
from crafts and collectibles to fine clothing.
Outdoor enthusiasts should visit the Virginia Creeper Trail,
